Fire Operations Technology Summit May 15 & 16, 2018

The California Fire Chiefs Association, Operations Section is pleased to announce its first annual “Fire Operations Technology Summit” on May 15 and 16, 2018.

This two-day event held at the beautiful ESRI campus in Redlands, California, is an opportunity for technology leaders in the field of emergency operations to address operation fire chiefs (or company officers who are the “operational” decision-makers) representing fire organizations throughout California.

The format of this event is different. It is not a conference or a room full of static display booths. This summit is designed to provide to a face-to-face operational discussion between leaders in emerging emergency services technologies and the fire service leaders.

We’ve asked our technology partners to do two things during this Summit:

1. Prepare a “lightning talk” in the style of a TED Talk identifying:

  1. What is your product?
  2. How will it make an impact on the fire service?

Considerations in this “lightning talk” might also include, who is currently using their products or a presentation from someone who has implemented their product successfully in a fire service organization.  Immediately after the presentation, a Q/A will occur amongst the attendees.

2. Network with the attendees and be available to engage in both informal and formal (facilitated) “tech” discussions.

Throughout the event, companies will also be able to display a presentation booth.  The booth area will be visible and near hosted events (including a networking breakfast and a hosted social event). This will allow opportunities to meet with the technology leaders to discuss their products and the future technology needs of the fire service.

As the California Fire Chiefs Association, Operations Section Chairperson, I would like to formally invite you to our Technology Summit. I believe that this event will be an innovated experience for both technology and fire service leaders as they discuss the future technology needs in the California fire service.
